TalkBeam for Resorts, ski areas & theme parks

Push-to-talk for resorts, ski areas and theme parks

TalkBeam is a push-to-talk walkie-talkie app that connects lift and ride operators, guest services, food and beverage, maintenance and security across your whole property, with a live staff map, all-call, automated weather alerts and a searchable log.

CH 01The problem

Where radios fall short across a big resort

Large seasonal teams, huge properties and weather that can close a lift or a ride in minutes.

  1. Seasonal staff and radio inventory

Every season means issuing, tracking and collecting a pile of radios.

    With TalkBeam

Staff join with a company code on their own phones, and you remove them in the console when the season ends.

    • Any headset, glasses or CarPlay
    • Company console
  2. Too many departments, too few channels

Operations, guest services and maintenance crowd the same channels.

    With TalkBeam

A channel per department or area, supervisors on all of them and an all-call for the whole property.

    • Unlimited company channels
    • Priority talk & all-call
  3. Weather holds

Wind, thunderstorm and heat decisions have to reach every operator at once.

    With TalkBeam

Automated broadcasts read weather alerts aloud, and an all-call carries your hold and reopen calls.

  4. Finding the nearest staffer

A guest needs help, and nobody knows who’s closest.

    With TalkBeam

The live map shows staff who are sharing their location.

    • Live team map
  5. Staff alone after close

Maintenance, snowmaking and night crews often work alone.

    With TalkBeam

Lone-worker check-ins and man-down detection alert a supervisor if someone stops answering.

CH 02A day on TalkBeam

A weather hold at a water park

A regional amusement and water park runs rides, lifeguards, guest services and maintenance channels on TalkBeam Enterprise.

The operations manager exports the day’s transcript for the weather-hold log.

Illustrative scenario. People, places and times are made up; the features are real.

CH 01 · PARK OPSTranscript
  1. TALKBEAM Automated broadcast

Thunderstorm at Splash Valley Park. Lightning risk: get indoors or into a vehicle and stay off equipment until 30 minutes after the last thunder.

  2. PARK OPS All-call

Weather hold on all outdoor rides and pools. Guards, clear the water. Guest services, open the pavilions.

  3. WAVE POOL

    Wave pool is clear.

  4. COASTER 2

Coaster 2 is unloaded and closed.

  5. PARK OPS

Thirty minutes since the last thunder. Rides, prepare to reopen at 2:45.

  6. MAINTENANCE

Maintenance is walking the slides before we reopen.

CH 03What you get

What resort teams get on TalkBeam

Everything a two-way radio does, on the phone, headset or vehicle your people already have, plus the things a radio never could.

  • Unlimited company channels

A channel per crew, site, shift or job, and the people who need each one. Supervisors can sit on all of them.

  • Priority talk & all-call

Supervisors cut through the chatter mid-sentence, or reach every channel at once with one hold.

  • Automated safety broadcasts Enterprise

Severe weather warnings, thunderstorms, earthquakes, air quality and extreme heat near your sites or crews, read aloud on your channels automatically.

  • Live team map

See everyone who’s sharing their location on one map, and who’s talking right now.

  • Lone-worker check-ins Enterprise

People working alone get an “Are you OK?” check-in on your schedule. A missed check-in escalates to a supervisor.

  • Crash & man-down detection Enterprise

When a phone detects a crash or a fall with no movement and nobody answers “Are you OK?”, supervisors get an alert with the location.

  • Searchable transcripts

Every transmission becomes text with a time and a name, so anyone can scroll back or search what was said.

  • Single sign-on Enterprise

People sign in with their Okta, Microsoft or Google work account.

Features marked Enterprise are part of the Enterprise plan. TalkBeam isn’t an emergency service and doesn’t contact 911.

Watch a crew run on TalkBeam

In our 2½-minute demo, a fictional ambulance company dispatches with an all-call, reroutes a crew over private direct talk, hears a flood warning read aloud in every unit and reviews it all in the transcripts. Every feature in it is real.

CH 06FAQ

Resorts, ski areas & theme parks: questions, answered

Can TalkBeam replace our radios?

For most departments, yes, wherever your property has cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. Ski patrol and rescue teams should keep their radios for rescue operations; TalkBeam covers everyone else.

How do we onboard a large seasonal team?

Share your company code, or use single sign-on on Enterprise, and put people on their department’s channels. Remove them from the console at the end of the season.

Will weather alerts reach operators on rides and lifts?

Yes. On Enterprise, automated broadcasts are read aloud on the channels you choose, through each person’s earbud, headset or phone.

Can we see where staff are?

Yes, for staff sharing their location on a company channel.

Will guests hear it?

Not if staff wear an earbud. TalkBeam plays through AirPods, Bluetooth earbuds or wired earpieces.

What does it cost at our size?

Enterprise is $15 per person per month billed yearly from 25 people, $13 per person from 100 people, and custom pricing from 500.
